He really believes the hamburger came from
Hamburg.....the good citizens have erected a plaque on the site...that's
what I remember most about Lutz...then again with the passage of so much
time ...and distance it is hard to keep the hard facts from the
fiction
that ...that often creates another story.....a saga type tale...a tale
that goes way back to a pre-christian reality when matters were settled
at the yearly althing.......several groups ...all groups come together
on the longest days of summer to .....settle differences and to reaffirm
what they all have in common.....the althing is based upon a deep seated
tradition....any and all innovations are frowned upon....you see that's
why I thought this finkler guy to be dead...of course it is all based on
rumor...and the square.....Finkler wanted compensation ....he called for
justice to be served...he wanted recognition where none had before been
acknowledged......his actions raised feathers....caused cows to stop
milking....falcons to fail to return home when set out to hunt....a
certain panic insues...cattle tanks are checked to see if the heifer is
being swallowed by the snake....people lost track of their stoic
thoughts ...all concept of why had been forgotten...revenge became the
motive for action...here is what insued....Finkler and his group are
followed by individuals that believe they have something to be gained
by retaliation.....they hatch a plan of action....when Finkler and his
followers go their own ways Finkler is followed back to his lair......a
portable storage locker...the type of structure that might just turn up
anywhere....they hear Finkler inside ...he is talking to his dog...an
Andy Griffith Show rerun can be heard in the
background...T.V....the
storage trailer is completely surrounded with out a sound to arouse
Finkler's suspicions....on a given cue all the pursuers light a match and
toss it onto Finkler's own private retreat....a huge fire cleans the air
with it's crisp heat.....the fire is hot enough for the pure at heart to
warm their hands...the others leave beforehand....Finkler is supposed to
have perished along with his dog and T.V.....even myths have a tendency
